New back porch project in Dublin OH
Supreme Concrete Solutions took on a new back porch project for a home in Dublin OH.
At this specific job, the back of the house had a plain patch of yard by the sliding door, and the homeowner wanted a real porch with a little more shape to it.
The before photo shows the area formed up and prepped, with the crew setting the wood forms and bending one end into a smooth curve.
The after photo shows the finished porch, a broom finished concrete slab that runs off the sliding door and then rounds out into a half circle at the far end for a softer look than a plain square.
See what our customers have to say:
Control joints are scored into it to keep it moving in clean lines, and the fresh dirt around the edges was graded back up to the new porch. People ask us if concrete can be poured into curves and rounded shapes like this.
It sure can, and we bend the forms to whatever shape the yard calls for, and a rounded edge like this one gives the porch a custom feel that a straight slab just doesn’t have.
Dublin has a lot of newer homes with backyards that are basically a blank slate, and a porch like this one gives the family a real spot to step out and relax. The curve also makes the porch feel bigger and blends it into the yard instead of cutting it off with hard corners.

Adding Curves to a Concrete Porch
Concrete does not have to be all straight lines and square corners. Because the forms bend, a porch or patio can be shaped with rounded edges, curves, and bump outs that match your yard and your style. It is one of the nice things about a poured slab, you get a custom shape for about the same effort as a plain rectangle.
