New Driveway Installation in Hilliard OH - Supreme Concrete Solutions
So we just finished this awesome driveway project over in Hilliard, pretty close to the Heritage Rail Trail actually. The people who live here needed their whole driveway redone and honestly it came out really nice.
Their old driveway was pretty messed up. It had cracks everywhere, was all bumpy and uneven, and you could tell it was just getting worse. Ohio weather is brutal on concrete – hot summers and freezing winters just destroy it over time. So they called us up at Supreme Concrete Solutions to fix it.

First thing we did was rip out all the old concrete and get the ground ready. This part is super important even though nobody really sees it. If you do not prep the base right, your driveway is going to crack and break in like a year or two. We made sure the ground was flat and sloped the right way so rain water goes away from the house instead of pooling up.
After that we put up the wooden forms and got everything ready for the concrete pour. The whole crew worked together to make sure it was all level and the corners were square. You can see in some of the pictures how careful we are with this stuff. If those wooden boards are not straight, the whole driveway will look crooked when we are done.

The actual pour went pretty smooth. We use really good concrete that can handle all the crazy temperature changes we get around Columbus. Once we poured it, the guys got out there with their tools to smooth it all out and create that brushed finish. It looks good and also gives you grip when it rains or snows.
Those lines you see cutting across the driveway are called control joints. Basically concrete is going to crack no matter what, so we cut these lines to control where the cracks happen. That way they stay in the lines we made instead of zigzagging all over the place randomly. Makes it look way cleaner.
The finished driveway looks really professional with all those smooth brush lines going across it. This family is going to get years and years out of this thing. Plus it makes their house look way better.
